Natalia Marmolejo x Gurumxtx in Residence

  • LaRucheHTX/RUBY Projects 1705 Ewing Street Houston, TX, 77004 United States (map)

RUBY Projects is pleased to welcome Mexico City–based artist Natalia Marmolejo for a one-month residency this April—we can’t wait to have her in Houston.

We first encountered her work through Luis Manuel Perea’s Fragil in CDMX—a highly regarded exhibition that will arrive in Houston this summer in a new imagination and expansion.

Marmolejo has exhibited internationally, including Fútbol y arte: esa misma emoción (2026) at Museo Jumex and Hello World 3.0 (2024). She holds a BFA from ENPEG “La Esmeralda” and completed an academic exchange in Reykjavík through the Erasmus program. She has presented a solo exhibition at Salón Silicón in collaboration with Gurrumata, and in 2025 co-curated Autorretrete at the same venue, where she also leads weekly performance nights. She is a recipient of the Crazy Peach Grant.

Her practice spans performance, experimental sound, and visual media—engaging the body as both interface and archive, and examining how identity and subjectivity are shaped across digital and physical space.

At LaRucheHTX, RUBY Projects’ residency platform, artists develop process-driven, site-responsive work in dialogue with Houston—centering experimentation, exchange, and direct engagement with audiences.
