From a background of collecting, advising, curating, and project management in the arts, Megan Olivia Ebel founded RUBY Projects in effort to cultivate coalescence within the Houston art community, envisioning a collaborative hub where galleries, institutions, public art programs, independent contractors, artists and businesses can coproduce to bring attention and function to Houston Arts on a national and, perhaps international scale. Through RUBY’s synergistic programming, Houston creatives re-invent the foundation for the arts—this time with accessibility in mind.
As a city of self-starters, Houston is a unique biome for entrepreneurs and as such, a big player in American institutional art history. Concurrently, a project management and networking hub that facilitates collaboration with experience in public art, advising, curation, project management, exhibition design, media production, and public relations will bring our factioned city together through a strong reputation as a creative destination.
Megan Olivia Ebel holds her BA in Studio Art from Sewanee The University of the South. As an independent curator, private art advisor, USPAP-certified appraiser, practicing artist, former arts educator, and docent with a professional and philanthropic history of institutional and gallery arts administration, integrating in Houston arts by working as a contractor for multiple creative communities in Texas lend to her interest in cultivating a deep connection between the movers and shakers that make Houston and Texas and American art excellent.
Originally hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Megan is based in the Museum District/Third Ward of Houston, Texas. She has worked in art spaces for over 15 years, in galleries representing both local emerging artists as well as managing and brokering client collections on the secondary market.
