Stella Chrone Residency

Stella Chrone joins LaRucheHTX for a two-month live-in artist residency from August 17 through October 17, 2026.
Chrone is a Miami Beach-based sculptor whose glass works permanently house living ant colonies that thrive fully enclosed for decades. Working at the intersection of sculpture, biology, and durational performance, she designs each vessel as a precision ecosystem. The colony excavates and transforms the sculpture’s negative space over months and years, becoming a society building itself in plain sight.
The residency provides dedicated studio access, curatorial and production dialogue, documentation, and opportunities for public engagement as Chrone advances new glass-and-living-system works. Visits are available Friday through Sunday, 11 AM–3 PM, and by appointment. Exhibition and resident open-house dates will be announced separately once confirmed.
